With 12 minutes of all-new 3D animation, SHREK 4D bridges the narrative between SHREK and next year's SHREK 2. Soon, the fairy tale heroes are face to face with ghostly foes, and the audience is transported into the center of an adventure that features an aerial dogfight between fire-breathing dragons and a steep plunge down a 1,000-foot waterfall. As it is a simulator, all ages are welcome. Almost 20 years in the park, Shrek 4-D is a session that brings adventure and fun to the whole family. But the ghost of Lord Farquaad, intent on taking his fearsome revenge, interrupts the honeymooners' bliss. In 2003, Universal Studios Florida opened an attraction centered on the green ogre and his friends. The tale begins as Shrek, Princess Fiona and Donkey, set off on their honeymoon. SHREK 4D reunites the comic talents of Mike Myers, Eddie Murphy, Cameron Diaz and John Lithgow, who return to give voice to the swamp-dwelling ogre, Shrek his faithful chatterbox companion, Donkey his bride, Princess Fiona and the vengeful ghost of Lord Farquaad.
SHREK 4D UNIVERSAL MOVIE
This first-of-a-kind partnership between the two studios picks up where the movie left off, combining original 3D animation, state-of-the-art digital cinema projection and audio systems, with unique in-theater effects that audiences can see, hear and feel. On the inside, it’s Lord Farquaad’s dungeon and torture chamber. On the outside, it’s Soundstage 4-D at Production Central. It’s now at Yester Universal, having closed permanently at Universal Studios Florida on January 10, 2022. After premiering at Universal Studio's Hollywood theme park in May 23, 2003, the SHREK 4D attraction opened June 16 at Universal Studios Florida in Orlando, continuing DreamWorks' Oscar-winning blockbuster with "OgreVision" animation and "sensory immersion." You can think of Shrek 4-D as Shrek 1½ because it takes place between the first two movies.
